After serveral attempts (the earliest being at 8 years of age), after researching various methods and after realising a dream, I’ve finally found a method that makes sense to me.

All Japanese all the time. The details can be found on the follow site ajatt.

The first stage of this is building an immersion environment, having already done this and continuing to build on it, stage two.

Stage two is the kanji, those funky symbol / characters that correspond to words or meanings. Jōyō kanji are the basic kanji taught to secondary school Japanese, from 1981 to 2009 this comprised of 1945 kanji since October 2009 this has been amended to 2136, sucks as I’ve gota learn a few more now, though maybe not so bad as I can do it all at the start. Everyone has their own pace, I’ve been doing for four months now and hope to finish in the next 4 weeks. All this with the help of RtK and Reviewing the Kanji.

After the kanji comes the kana, hiragana and katakana, these should only take a few days using Remembering the Kana.

Then from here it’s all about the sentences. Mining as many sentences as possible. To be continued…
